More capacity, safely
Assistive workflows that preserve a consistent quality bar.
Services / AI-Enabled Design Operations
Give AI more responsibility without giving up control.
Put AI to work inside real design and product workflows, with clear boundaries for what it can decide alone and what still needs a person’s judgement.
Assistive workflows that preserve a consistent quality bar.
AI-supported preparation and iteration where it genuinely helps.
Clear review points keep decisions accountable and explainable.
People review evidence and approve changes to the workflow.
WHAT THE WORK CAN INVOLVE
Different decisions can sit at different points at the same time.
LOW CONFIDENCE · EXCEPTION · CONFLICTING EVIDENCEHUMAN REVIEW / DECISION
People set constraints, intervene, review, decide and improve the workflow.
OPERATIONAL LOOP
AI can continue within agreed confidence and rules. When uncertainty, exceptions or conflicting evidence appear, human judgement brings the work back within bounds. Outcomes then inform the next cycle.

APPROACH
Understand the work broadly, then investigate the most useful opportunity closely. The right responsibility depends on confidence, consequence and context.
Map the tasks, people, context and constraints across the workflow.
Notice repeated effort, delays, exceptions and places where support could help.
Select an opportunity by value and consequence, not by how much can be automated.
Examine confidence, reversibility, failure cost and the evidence available.
These are parallel choices, not stages in a maturity journey. Different tasks can sit at different points at the same time, and some should remain human-led.
AI assists with preparation, retrieval or suggestions.
A person reviews the proposal and owns the decision.
Uncertainty, exceptions or conflicting evidence return the work to a person.
Put the chosen responsibility boundary into the actual workflow and test it in context.
Review quality, outcomes, exceptions and effects on the people doing the work.
Use evidence and governed review to adjust the boundary or choose the next opportunity.
Evidence returns to the opportunity landscape. People review and govern any change to the workflow or its boundaries.
EVIDENCE
Selected work and thinking where AI changed how work could be done without removing the judgement it still needed.
ARTICLE
AI can replace much of the work we once gave juniors. But if companies stop investing in the people who become tomorrow’s experts, what happens when today’s experienced talent is gone?
ARTICLE
After building the same website with Claude and Codex, I stopped asking which one was better. Both can design, both can code, but they bring very different instincts to the work. Maybe choosing an AI is less about capability, and more about choosing the right collaborator for the task at hand.
CASE STUDY
I designed a safer research workflow for an AI-assisted screening product, making incomplete evidence, uncertainty, and human judgement visible instead of collapsing them into a misleading confidence score.
RECOGNITION
AI is already being used, but everyone uses it differently.
Review effort is growing almost as quickly as AI-generated output.
Teams can automate tasks, but are not sure which decisions should remain human.
Good AI workflows exist as individual habits rather than shared practice.
Nobody is quite sure who is accountable when AI gets something wrong.
AI makes work faster, but quality is becoming harder to predict.
START WITH THE FRICTION
We can look at where friction, repetition or uncertainty is building and work out what deserves attention first.
